Paying Attention Graphic Revised More Text

Tuesday, September 3, 2024 - 11:00 A.M. CDT

Get contextual with Josh Scott and Derrick Weston.

In his book Context: Putting Scripture in its Place, Josh Scott delves into well-known Scripture verses to explore their true meanings by examining the verses in their original biblical contexts. Following his example, you, too, will discover how to ground all your studies in their appropriate contexts.

In this webinar, you will:

  • Join two interpreters as they model a fresh new approach to the Bible
  • Gain insights into the contexts out of which various passages emerged and were shaped
  • Discover how reading the Bible with eyes and ears directed toward the past can make our interpretations more credible
  • Identify methods for use in designing Bible studies in ways that pay attention to context

Explore a movement to read Scripture differently, contextually, and responsibly. Be a part of the change you want to see in the Church!

“For years, many of us have been seeing a great problem and a great need. The problem: too many people are turning the Bible into a weapon that does harm. The need: for gifted teachers to model a fresh new approach to the Bible, not just in theory, but by demonstrating that new approach through their deep, honest, and interesting engagement with actual biblical texts. I'm so thankful that Josh Scott is offering exactly what we need!
